Science in Antarctica in the Future

Some important new international programs are already underway.
In astronomy, there is great interest in the construction of several large telescopes at the South Pole for international use. Geophysicists are sharing data on a more comprehensive picture of the ocean floor to offer. In addition, an international team of geologists drilling a deep core of Cape Roberts in the Ross Sea Antarctica, the history of the continental ice is investigated.

The processes that are now in Antarctica impact on the global climate and the oceans, linking the continent inextricably to what we experience thousands of miles away.
There is much speculation that climate change could lead to a collapse of the polar ice sheets. Future ice sheet must be based on reliable predictions of climate models are based and an understanding of the dynamics of the Antarctic ice. This research in turn is vital for painting a clearer picture of global climate change. What's more, has strengthened the evidence for the destruction of the ozone layer in the upper atmosphere, the need for continued research into the atmosphere.

In all these efforts, there is a genuine attempt to exploit the unique features of Antarctica in order to answer important scientific questions. May be included with the latest technology and sophisticated equipment scientists in mapping the Antarctic, which assess accurately than ever before, the changing continent.

A350 airbus

From September 17, Bloomberg has this report that Airbus projects 1,500 deliveries for its A350 in support of the “reimbursable launch investments” (aka “launch aid”) pledged by the UK, Germany, France and Spain, the Airbus-member states.

The article provides some detail about how the loan would be structured, and it is this sort of transaction that drives Boeing crazy. If Airbus doesn’t reach 1,500 sales, the loan is guaranteed by the state bank, KfW. (If sales exceed 1,500, Airbus continues to pay a “success fee,” another masterpiece in marketing mislabeling for its implications of success or failure of the program. This should be called a royalty, like it is on the A320.)

Boeing doesn’t have any guarantees if it fails to reach a sales target. This is one of the things at the crux of the WTO complaint.

Airbus says A350 launch aid will conform to WTO rules.

We’ve not been in the Boeing camp with respect to the legal attack on Airbus launch aid, but as readers know we don’t like government subsidies of any kind. Which brings us to….
